RCA Alumni Spotlight Questionnaire
1. What was your professional path after graduating?
After graduating high school, I attend SVCC, King College, and the University of Georgia Law School. I served a Federal Clerkship with Honorable Glen Williams of the Western District of Virginia and became licensed to practice law in Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee.
2. How did your academic experience guide you in your pursuits and daily life?
In relation to my time at Richlands Christian Academy, the importance of setting and accomplishing daily goals was invaluable in practicing law. It also helped me in learning how to juggle practicing law and being a wife and mother.
3. What was your favorite activity and study subject?
During my time at Richlands Christian Academy, my favorite activity was the field trips that occurred every Friday, usually to a historical place. My favorite course of study was New Testament Survey.
4. What is your favorite memory from your time at RCA?
I have so many wonderful memories. One memory is watching Dale Keene drop a piece of paper in Freda Endicott’s cubicle that counted down the days to their wedding. Another memory I have is the store that Uncle Mackie and Aunt Shirley ran. I loved eating lunch with my cousins and friends. Perhaps my most special memory though was my dad preaching on “Dead Champions” during chapel (referencing Goliath).
5. What was your favorite tradition at RCA?
I attended the first four years after RCA was established. I don’t know what happened during those early years that still continues today. I did always enjoy beginning the day with opening exercises and reading the monthly memory chapter with everyone. The first memory chapter was Psalm 1, and to this day, those verses are still in my memory bank!
6. What advice would you give current RCA students?
Do your best in school. If anyone says you can’t reach a career goal by going to a Christian school or a community college, ignore them and do it anyway. Listen to and learn from your teachers and school staff, not just about academics but also about Biblical wisdom and wisdom for life applications.
